Brad Lovin NamedState Association Executive of the Year
(Arlington, Va. – October 14, 2009) Brad Lovin, executive director, North Carolina Manufactured and Modular Homebuilders Association (NCMHA), Raleigh, N.C., has received the "State Association Executive of the Year" award. The award was presented at an annual awards dinner held on September 28, 2009 during the Manufactured Housing Institutes (MHI) 73rd Annual Meeting held in San Diego, CA.
“This industry role model has shown determination during a tough economy and has led our industry in a manner that generates both respect and strength. We are very proud of his accomplishments,” said Thayer Long, Executive Vice President of MHI.
Brad Lovin was applauded for outstanding accomplishments in the face of reduced budgets and staff support. As a lobbyist for the association, he achieved outstanding successes during the 2009 legislative session by defeating several bills that would have had negative financial impacts on the industry and in implementing legislation that will have positive benefits for the industry in North Carolina. He also successfully pushed for changes in the States transportation regulations that prohibited manufacturers from shipping their products in an efficient and timely manner to retail outlets.
In addition to his lobbying efforts, he has been focused on services that will help the members achieve more sales through projects such as the annual state fair home display and conducting retail-training seminars. Moreover, he led the efforts of improving the association’s and industry’s image through an association name change, and modernization of the association’s logo and Web site.
Chris Parrish, NCMHA President, said, “This award confirms what we have known for a long time, Brad Lovin is one of the best association executives in the nation. We are so honored and blessed to have Brad on our team working and advocating for us.”
